Buffalo, Wyoming .... More Than a One Horse Town

This 4th of July Weekend Cece and I went up to Buffalo, Wyoming so that I could meet her family and also so I could see the place that shaped the woman I love. Traffic going up was OK and as always cleared out as soon as we got past Fort Collins and Cheyenne. The only hiccup on the drive up was Charlie throwing up 3 times in the Cece's car on the way up. This resulted in windows immediately being rolled down and Cece trying to not crash as she was dry heaving.

I ended up liking the town quite a bit and felt that it definitely had charm. I can see why C holds it so dear to her heart. The downtown was small but was a nice downtown area for a mountain town. The backdrop is the Big Horn Mountains and being from Colorado Springs I definitely appreciate having mountains to the west.

On the 4th Cece's Mom, Cece and I went to Billings, Montana (which was a couple of hours away) to do a little shopping. I was informed that in that area of the state traveling a couple hours anywhere is not out of the ordinary. We had some lunch, found a couple things to buy and headed back to Buffalo that evening. The next day Cece decided to show me around the town. We went to Dash Inn for lunch and had some delicious dashburgers (yes Cece had one too) with potato wedges. After that we drove around the park, saw all the schools she went to and she also showed me all the houses she lived in. After this was done we decided to get a drink downtown and went to the Occidental. The bar has an old west historic feel which i actually liked and felt that it was definitely appropriate. After putting a couple back a couple of Cece's friends who were in town for a wedding met us at the bar. They were very funny and had a bunch of stories that reminded me of my friends.

After we left there we continued home to Cece's family house and they made a nice dinner. That night we ended up playing Texas Hold Em (C's dad got all our money) and Dominoes (where i made a new record for worst score in WYO history). Cece's family was very welcoming and nice and made the stay very enjoyable for me. The drive back wasn't too bad except for a couple spots and Charlie didn't up chuck on the home (amazing what a difference that makes for the drive). Joe and Hillary had to drop somebody off at DIA so they ended up meeting us at the house once we got home and we had some dinner, drinks and played some Mario Kart.

Thanks Cece and Cece's Family for making this a very enjoyable and pleasant weekend!!!
